I've been up into the wee hours with the plots and subplots of Left 4 Dead running through my head. It's exciting to lay in bed while the scenes play out. When I was working full time, those nights made for rough days to follow. Now that writing is my activity, I enjoy it. I just take more naps the next day. Some writers think this is a blessing, and in some ways it is, but I can't turn it off. In that respect, it's a bit of a curse. When I'm in this mode, all I want to do is write, but alas, life intrudes.
The Tall Grass Editing Co Op is getting into Dead Reckoning. That's good and bad. The good part is that the story has hold of them, which means I've done my job. The bad part is they miss the same errors I did when I was writing it. We've edited 47 out of 72 chapters. I suspect there's about 9 more weeks before it is complete. In order to make a drop date of mid-September, I'm going to have to send the Tall Grass version to another editor as I get it copy edited while we continue with the written version.
Meanwhile, I WANT TO WRITE!
